Cloud service

Unannounced Cloud Service

Cloud computing is a type of Internet-based computing that provides shared computer processing resources and data to computers and other devices on demand. It represents a substantial change in IT infrastructure for the current and future uses, and many companies are trying to capitalize on this shift. The project I worked on was related to the SaaS (Software As A Service) model and was intended for a global audience.

request

The initial request was to design an innovative concept of a cloud service that would meet user needs and offer new types of interaction.

methods & tools

The global approach to design that we chose was the Double Diamond. The main idea behind it is to divide the design process into four phases: discover, define, develop, and deliver. In these phases, I used tools from the Lean UX method.

I did research and animated workshops to help us shape our ideas (e.g. by creating user stories, KPIs, design maps, etc.). I took part in the process of defining of the HMI and the proposed functions of the product. I made functional specifications, wireframes, a mock-up, and prototype. I also conducted iterative user tests to collect feedback about the use of a new tech and to evaluate the cloud service.

results

Different tools we used helped us define the service and move the design forward. The iterative user tests allowed me to make guidelines and recommendations to the team.
